High density polyurethane housing

Engineering

The polyurethane housing is a significant engineered enhancement to the CINC Solutions product line. The centrifuge housing is typically a costly stainless steel component in which the rotor rotates between a stainless steel top and bottom bearing housing.

In order to offer a more cost effect product, particularly for oil/water separations, and biodiesel applications, we now manufacture machines with a new moulded, high density, steel re-inforced polyurethane housing. These polyurethane units meet the exact same stringent ATEX requirements as our stainless steel and exotic alloy centrifuges.

Top and bottom bearing plate base rings are moulded into the housing and a stainless steel skeleton is moulded into the housing during construction. The polyurethane material "mix" is chosen specifically for the application. FDA approved formulations are also available.

The housing is less than 1/5 the weight of a stainless steel housing and results in a significant lowering of the costs. This engineered innovation also reduces construction lead times significantly as the housings are manufactured in a single continuous pour from parts available off the shelf.

The polyurethane housing is also available in our largest centrifuge the CS 500. The cost reduction in this large centrifuge is particularly dramatic allowing it to be installed in applications where fully stainless steel centrifuges are to expensive.
